Elder Care Network of Northern Colorado presents its 13th annual Senior Law Day on Saturday, August 5th. Registration opens at 8:00 AM. The event will take place at the Lory Student Center at Colorado State University in Fort Collins from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
The Keynote Speaker is Susie Germany who will be presenting on the Colorado End of Life Options Act. In November 2016 voters passed Initiative 106, the Colorado End-of-Life Options Act which allows terminally ill patients to request aid in dying in certain clearly defined situations. Suzie will explain the new law and similar laws in other states, as well as discuss expected future amendments to the law and issues that have already arisen, such as hospitals and health care systems that have refused to offer this option to their patients.
Susie Germany is an attorney and a Deputy Public Administrator for the 17th Judicial District. The goal of Senior Law Day is to assist seniors and their families with legal matters related to aging and planning. A $10 per person suggested contribution includes lunch with a keynote presentation, four educational sessions with a variety of topics and two comprehensive reference handbooks.
