Pageantry was in full bloom when Elizabeth Welter, the director of the Colorado All American Girl Pageant (AAG) held her first pageant here in Colorado on June 10th & 11th at the Holiday Inn Stapleton. Emceeing the event was Ms. E-Dee Martin, Ms. America International 2016. In speaking with two of the pageant  judges,  Ms. Colorado Senior America 2016, Ms. Sylvia Boyd and her pageant director, Debbie Buczkowski, both of the “Age of Elegance” (60+ years of age), both ladies agreed they felt in full bloom while judging these budding little blossoms competing in the pageant. It was a meeting of both young and, shall we say “seasoned” ladies.  Ahhh, youth!

These lovely young competitors were judged on age appropriateness, entertainment, stage presence, personality, poise and personal appearance in four separate categories: 1) overall, 2) beauty, 3) personality, 4) photogenic and princess – the key focus being on natural beauty, poise, personality, and public speaking.  As their pageant director Ms. Welter states, “We are teaching little girls to love themselves with poise and to be able to speak in front of people, with a mind toward accomplishment in all their future endeavors. They are helping a charity in the process – what’s there not to love? It’s  a community service style of pageantry – meaning, it’s not about the recognition, but  rather about the “Spirit” of the competitors.   is year’s queenly winners were Miss Teen, Victoria Long who aspires to become a meteorologist and involved in community service; Miss Jr. Teen, Channing Leopold; and Mini Miss, Sophia Norton. Congratulations to these charming future achievers.
