Salida Del Sol Academy received 576 books as part of the Assistance League of Greeley participation in Make A Difference Day. The books will be used to increase the size of the academy, in its second year of operation.
Vice Principal Francis Schneeweiss, Academy students Eddina Hernandez, Jasmin Pacheco, Joselin Gomez and Leonel Gulleaos accepted the books from Assistance League members Lola Lucero and Ann VanMatre. The students were excited to be the first to have a chance to review which books they wanted to read first.
This is the fourth year the local Assistance League chapter has participated in the nationwide Make a Difference Day book campaign. Books in previous years were delivered to the two Weld County Boys and Girls Clubs and the Jefferson High School Day Care.
