2015-16 CU Theatre & Dance Season

Season tickets are on sale for the exciting 2015-16 University of Colorado Boulder Department of Theatre & Dance season, kicking off September 18 in the Irey Theatre with “No Boundaries,” a living archive of original and established dance solos created by prominent contemporary African-American choreographers; and Tennessee Williams’ career-defining memory play, “The Glass Menagerie,” on September 25 in the University Theatre.

Also included in the theater season are “Woyzeck: The Endless Cycle 1.0” (an original adaptation of Georg Buchner’s “Woyzeck”), “The 39 Steps” by John Buchan in a hilarious adaption by Patrick Barlow, Bock and Harnick’s classic musical “Fiddler on the Roof ”; as well as Shakespeare’s probing “The Winter’s Tale,” Bob Carlton’s hilarious “Return to the Forbidden Planet,” and “Rabbit Hole” by David Lindsay-Abaire.

The dance lineup includes “Beautiful Human Lies,” an evening of new works by Rennie Harris, the world’s foremost choreographer of hip-hop/street dance theater; and “The Current,” a showcase of works by CU faculty and Roser guest artist Faye Driscoll, a Bessie Award-winning choreographer and director who investigates new forms of theatrical experience. The season also features innovative dance performances by CU faculty, guest artists, and students. Single tickets go on sale August 17.
