Boulder Fire-Rescue is proud to announce it has been officially reaccredited by the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE). This reaccreditation based on rigorous self-assessment highlights Boulder Fire-Rescue’s ongoing commitment to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement in serving the community.

“Being reaccredited by CPSE is more than just an honor — it means we keep our promise to continuously improve,” said Fire Chief Michael Calderazzo. “It shows our community that we hold ourselves to the highest standards and are always working to refine how we protect lives and property.”

CPSE accreditation is a long and intense process that evaluates everything from emergency response and training to community risk reduction and leadership. It demonstrates that Boulder Fire-Rescue not only meets national standards but continually evaluates and enhances its performance.

“This recognition by CFAI is a powerful testament to the dedication, professionalism, and hard work of Boulder Fire-Rescue, from its leadership to its firefighters who serve and protect our community every single day,” shares City Manager Nuria Rivera-Vandermyde. “We are proud of the hard work that is put into the successful completion of rigorous review processes like this for all departments. Boulder Fire-Rescue joins two other city departments to undergo this level of review this year.”

As Boulder grows and changes, Boulder Fire-Rescue remains dedicated to being community-oriented, data-driven, and outcome-focused following the mission of people first, safety always, excellence in all we do.
