Dementia Together was honored with a private sit-down meeting with Governor Polis while he was in Northern Colorado in October. Cyndy Luzinski, Executive Director, and Lisa LaFehr, Board President, shared with the governor and his team how a Help Colorado Now Covid Recovery grant enabled them to develop and provide a few months of virtual memory cafés.

The governor viewed a video clip from a recent virtual ‘mobile memory café’ with the residents and staff at Loveland Good Samaritan and Fort Collins Aspyre Rock Creek, along with family members outside the facility attending ‘together.’ The poignant joy for family members in seeing their loved ones engaging with the fun and music explained without words, how Dementia Together is transforming physical distancing into social connection during these challenging times.
