In November, the City of Loveland held its Pulse Fiber Broadband Network groundbreaking ceremony at the Loveland Service Center. Over 40 city officials, staff, media, and residents attended the ceremony. Broadband Manager Brieana Reed-Harmel began the presentation followed by Mayor Jacki Marsh and City Manager Steve Adams and other staff.
Loveland Pulse is the city’s new fiber broadband network providing super high speed internet and phone service to Loveland and Thompson Valley residents and business customers. Residents and businesses will be able to download and upload very large data files, have high definition video teleconferencing, add large music and photo files, and even more!

As the mayor and city manager stressed in their presentations, Loveland Pulse is a great opportunity for Loveland residents, businesses, and educational institutions to take advantage of this new technology in making their operations more dynamic and efficient with many internet data and voice applications.
Construction begins in late 2019 with service beginning by the first quarter of 2020 after network testing is completed. The network is expected to be completed in 2023. Residents and businesses will notice the subcontractor Colorado Boring’s trucks and fiber conduit laying machines with the Loveland Pulse approved subcontractor signs. GE Construction and Backbone Fiber are part of the initial construction. Staff indicated this is the largest capital project in the city’s history.
