Revolutionizing Dementia Care

Dementia Friendly Communities of Northern Colorado is hosting a free documentary film on “Revolutionizing Dementia Care” at the Timberline Church, 2808 Timberline Rd., Fort Collins. in the South Auditorium on November 8th from 5 to 7:30 pm. Prior to the film from 4 to 5 pm, local senior care professionals will be available to answer questions and share information about their organizations. Free refreshments, laughter, and engaging conversation.

“I have Alzheimer’s, but Alzheimer’s doesn’t have me,” says Brian LaBlanc, international dementia advocate and guest at the second Living Well with Dementia Community Symposium.

This year’s theme is Friday Night at the Movies and Chatting with the Experts, experts living with dementia. Come view Revolutionizing Dementia Care,  the new public television documentary that details how individuals with dementia are living full and meaningful lives.  A panel discussion will follow with people featured in the film, including Brian LaBlanc, and  Mark and Brenda Roberts, a couple walking the dementia journey together along with their dog, Sophie. A few of own local experts striving to live well with the disability of dementia will join our guests on stage too.  DementiaFriendly Communities of Northern Colorado® is about helping people discover that there is still a lot of living to do even when dementia is part of the life journey.  Donations to sustain the work of this nonprofit organization will be accepted with registration and at the door.  If you are living with dementia, know someone living with dementia, or are simply interested in how you, personally, can better understand how in the world living well with dementia is possible,  this event is for you. The cost of the symposium has been underwritten by generous corporate sponsors, so admission is free, but registration is required at DementiaFriendsNoCO.org
