Aurora’s Veterans Salute

The city of Aurora’s annual tradition of  honoring  military heroes continues with the 25th Anniversary of Veterans Salute, Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. This year’s silver anniversary honors Aurora’s rich military history throughout the years from Fitzsimons General Hospital to Lowry Air Force Base and Buckley Air Force Base. A special tribute reflects on the past and recognizes the present.

The social and solemn event is a time for veterans and their families to gather in the spirit of sharing memories of the past and making new ones with fellow veterans and current military people.  Kick off the celebration with a social from 9:30 to 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon and main event programming from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Musical performances, guest speakers and the traditional recognition of the five branches of military serve as an afternoon of enjoyable entertainment and engaging reflection.
