In early June, the Honor Flight Northern Colorado (HFNC) chapter held its annual reunion breakfast at the Island Grove Events Center for their past honor flight veterans. Over 300 HFNC recipients attended the catered breakfast hosted by UC Health.
Stan Cass, president of HFNC, opened the ceremony by thanking the veterans for their service, followed by the color guard flag detail, invocation, the national anthem, and pledge of allegiance.

Recently appointed, Major General Mike Loh, Colorado Adjutant General and Executive Director of the Veterans Affairs, was the keynote speaker. General Loh discussed current affairs in the military and gave an update on the two veteran hospitals in Cheyenne and Aurora. The VA hospital in Aurora is expected to open by mid-2018. He discussed the war on terrorism and explained our national defense is a strategic imperative for our nation. Over 2,200 hundred HFNC recipients have attended a donor paid honor flight back to Washington DC to visit multiple military memorials.

They have two dedicated flights per year comprised of veterans, guardians, and medical personnel. Many veterans who have attended, say the honor flight program is one of their best experiences!
