Elder Care Network of Northern Colorado hosts their annual Elder Care Resource Day on Saturday, April 1st from 7:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Fort Collins Senior Center. Registration is from 7:30 until 8:00 a.m. The event is free with a suggested donation of $10, which includes lunch.
Members of the Elder Care Network and sponsors answer individual questions and each attendee receives a tote bag filled with information on local resources. Elder Care Resource Day is a great opportunity for caregivers, family members, or seniors to come and listen to speakers with professional expertise in each of their fields and share experiences with others.
Attendees can attend three different sessions throughout the day. Session 1 includes topics such as Senior Living Options, Grief and Mourning, Aging Parent Finances, and Advanced Directives, which addresses what they are and when one needs them. Session 2 includes Before and After Death Decisions, Advocating for an Older Adult, Fall Risk, and Low to No Cost Programs in Larimer County, which teaches about the different financial assistance programs in Larimer County. Session 3 includes Mental Health and the Older Adult, Incontinence, Contented Dementia, and Equipment that can make everyday tasks easier.

The network is made up of family members and community professionals who host and promote activities intended to assist family caregivers and seniors in making informed decisions.
