Better Business Bureau Serving Denver/Boulder is issuing a warning on a pattern of complaints concerning Rocky Mountain Film Lab. Steve Dock is the owner of the business, which specializes in obtaining images from old films, and claims to be the world’s premiere developer of antique, esoteric, vintage, outdated and old film.
This business currently has an F rating with the BBB. 29 reportable complaints have been filed over three years, and many consumers have been left hanging without their finished product for years. This pattern of complaints has occurred since 2010 and the business filed chapter 13 bankruptcy in that year. Also in 2010, BBB gave Steve Dock access to the complaints in order to resolve them, but he never followed through and the complaints continue. In 2016 alone, 247 consumers inquired about this business through the BBB.
Local consumers allege two issues:
- Consumers allege service issues, stating that they paid, and were made aware of a potential one year or more processing time. Even after the year had passed the consumers did not receive their film.
- Consumers also complain about customer service issues, claiming they would call the business to inquire about their film, or ask to have it sent back, and their phone calls and/or voicemails went unanswered.
Consumers also allege that, although there are no replies to email inquiries about incomplete orders, the business is responding to email requests for new work.
The majority of the complaints have been closed as unresolved. BBB requested to meet with the business to address the complaint allegations; however the business failed to respond. BBB urges any consumer to exercise caution when engaging with Rocky Mountain Film Lab, and to report any issues or negative experiences to your BBB at denver.bbb.org.
