Larimer County Honors Veterans

Last month, several organizations in Larimer County gave tribute to our veterans. Thrivent Financial and Adamson Funeral Services held their annual Veterans Family Fair and tailgate party at the Embassy Suites in Loveland. Over 400 people including veterans, their families, and exhibitors attended the event.

wwii-b-25-bomber-demo-replicaVeteran’s Family Fair. Over 25 exhibitors showed military or veteran related items at their tables. A detailed life-sized WWII bomber shell and military vehicles were available for guests to see. A country & western band, color guard, children’s choir, various guest speakers, and a musical tribute to our veterans provided the entertainment and program during the free lunch.

Kiwanis Golden K Club Veterans Day Breakfast. The Fort Collins Kiwanis Golden K Club sponsored their annual Veterans Day Breakfast at the Fort Collins Senior Center. About 300 veterans and their spouses attended the free breakfast with several exhibitors showing veteran related items. A color guard, several speakers, and musical entertainment provided the program for the veterans and their families.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion in Loveland hosted their annual Veterans Day Parade for the public in honor of our veterans. Multiple groups participated in the parade including color guards, bands, veterans, and the military. Thanks to these great organizations for sponsoring and honoring our veterans!
