Chief Garcia was born and raised in Greeley. He is a Greeley West High School graduate and earned an Aims College Associates Degree. He is currently working towards a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and has future plans to work towards a Master’s Degree.

The Chief prides himself in being goal oriented. He strides to be a leader in every area of his life; whether it be in family life, business life or his personal and professional life. Being Chief of Police, he manages and directs nine officers and three administrative personnel. As a team, they work to be properly prepared to serve the Milliken community on a moment’s notice or just conducting everyday kind of business situations.

Chief Garcia leads a very active and involved life. His volunteer efforts reach to the Salvation Army’s Hi Peak Camp, Boy’s and Girl’s Club, and he mentors young people helping them to get back on track; if and when they fall prey to a detour which causes difficulties for them.

His professional life has him serving as State Law Enforcement Representative to the Colorado Restorative Council, serving on the E911 Weld County Board and Chairman of the AIMS College Community Criminal Justice Program. He is, also, Vice President of the Weld County Chief’s Association. He was awarded Law Enforcement Officer of the Year 2014; presented by Youth and Family Connections “Hero Celebration.”

As busy as the Chief is he enjoys fishing, playing softball, a healthy exercise program and reading. Above all, he treasures time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.

The Chief strives to lead as a Father, grandfather and as a very involved community member. He speaks openly about his faith and the balance it brings to his life.
