Happy New Year with the dawning of 2016! After all the celebrations are over, we’re left with a challenge. How to live the next 365 days to the fullest. Looking back to 2015 might provide some ideas for this New Year.
What take aways exist from last year? What difference will they make for living into 2016? If last year had many challenges, how do you turn any lemons, which might have come your way, into lemonade?
Where did you find fulfillment last year? How much of that can be captured again or expanded upon? Where did you make a difference?
At what point did the quest for life’s meaning become more apparent? Did situations exist raising questions about its meaning?
When did you learn what you really wanted for that year? Where did those answers appear? How many “wants” overtook the “needs” in your life’s ledger?
Answers to these questions may not come easily. Perhaps they are
not what you expected this time last year.
With this year’s path untrodden, look at some of those 2015 take aways. This might be the time to get lost on the journey through these next 365 days.
Fulfillment this year might include exploring creativity. The sky’s the limit. Volunteering our time fits right in here as an example. Making a difference in another’s life matters whether we’re aware of it or not.
In the search for life’s meaning, indulge your intuition. Those answers may already exist and could be waiting for recognition.
While taking note of what’s really important and what is wanted, pursue a relationship. Go for the broadest deffnition – expand the circle of friends, meet new people. Others may be looking for this as well.
Answers to a fulfilling, meaningful life, filled with what we want, could emerge more clearly this year. Stay open on the path through the coming days and months of 2016. Happy journey whether
you find guidance from the self-help section in the book store, online or from talking with others who too navigate the year.
