Aurora Celebrates Veterans Day

In November, the City of Aurora and KZEW AM Radio sponsored the 21st annual Aurora Veterans Salute held at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. Along with the participation of 40 sponsors, over 850 veterans, active military, dignitaries, and families attended this annual event. is event celebrated the 70th anniversary of WWII.

Mark Hyatt, COO of the Museum welcomed all guests and introduced KZEW radio celebrity and host Rick Crandall during the introduction. The annual color guard represented by all military services was followed by the national anthem, invocation and lunch. Several dignitaries including Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan and State Senator Nancy Todd gave tribute to the veterans. The Aspen Crossing Elementary School fifth grade students provided musical entertainment for the audience. Major General Michael Edwards and Rick Crandall gave recognition to the WWII veterans. The staff at 50 Plus thanks our veterans and active duty military personnel for their outstanding service to our country!
