Experience the colorful and inviting photography of Joe Coca, at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures. View Coca’s images from around the world in the Hall Gallery.

From the deserts of Morocco to the highlands of the Andes, Coca’s photographs inspire exploring the world. Investigate traditional indigenous cultures, “meet” people from remote villages, wander the streets of Croatia, and pass through the byways of Peru. From vistas and villages in Egypt and Peru to intimate pictures of the people who live and work in these cultures, engage in an international experience.

As a child, Coca came to his love of photography through his mother, who he says delighted in taking creative photos in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. After graduating with a journalism degree from Colorado State University, Coca moved to the Los Angeles area in the 1970s to attend the Art Center College of Design. There he laid the foundation for his colorful and unique approach to photography.

Coca returned to Colorado and opened Joe Coca Photography in Fort Collins more than 35 years ago. Today he works in his studio but also travels worldwide to do his photography.

“I feel very lucky to have traveled the world,” says Coca. His next assignments include a trip to Cusco, Peru, and a trip to Laos.

Visitors are invited to explore the Museum Shop and international galleries. Admission is $5 adults, $3 seniors & students, and $1 children. For more information call (970) 221-4600. The Museum is located at 200 West Mountain Ave., Fort Collins. www.globalvillagemuseum.org/.
