Created by a European firm, this sleek, egg-shaped capsule resembles a spaceship, complete with a retractable wind turbine and futuristic solar cells that doesn’t require any external power. The ‘Ecocapsule’ is a mini apartment with all the conventional luxuries, but generates its own clean energy and can be located virtually anywhere on this planet.
Ecocapsule is a low-energy house and merges an energy efficient shape, compact volume and off-grid capabilities with the luxuries of a warm bed, running water and a hot meal. The spherical shape is optimized for the collection of rainwater and dew with built-in water filters to accommodate any water source. Even though small in size, each Ecocapsule comfortably houses two adults. Its efficient spatial layout design allows the convenience of household facilities in remote conditions. A built-in kitchenette with running water, toilet and hot shower are available for any city or wilderness application. Plenty of storage space is available too. A mobile camper version will be available in late 2016.
After six years of development, the capsule was recently unveiled at a European innovation and design festival. Nice Architects have already received thousands of pre-orders, and no price has been announced yet. Just think of all the places across this world this innovation would be perfect. Here’s another example of innovation and using technology for living!
