Congratulations, Ms. Buddi Boryla, of Aurora, who was crowned Ms. Colorado Senior America 2015 by Ms. Sharon Nuanes, MCSA 2014 at the Pageant held on June 27 at Pinnacle Performing Arts Complex. Her court consists of 1st runner up Ms. Sharon Parry of Lone Tree, and 2nd runner up Ms. Claudette Erek of Littleton, along with contestants Ann Anderson, Connie Bobka, Rita Carlon, Alicia Johansson-Melody, Cyndy Oberdier, Nancy Pulc, and Benita Velasquez.
Buddi Boryla is a fun and joyous person. She says, “Some pursue happiness and others create it. I love to laugh and to make everyone around me smile.” She developed her southern drawl when she spent her childhood in Brinkley, Arkansas, and it was a great addition to her talent presentation of “Pontoon” (the Little Big Town hit). During her life, she has pursued her passion of song and dance. She grew up with two handicapped siblings and, because of that, was dedicated to getting the Americans with Disabilities Act passed. Buddi will be a wonderful addition to the Ms. Colorado Senior America Cameo Club which performs showcases throughout the area each year.
This year marked the 21st Anniversary of the pageant, created to give honor to women who have reached the age of elegance, 60+ years of age. The Pageant is a charitable organization and Cameo club its supporting arm. To learn more about them and the current queen visit www.colosramerica.com.
2015 Queen Buddi’s first public appearance was at the 4th of July Parade in Highlands Ranch. Buddi will represent Colorado when she competes for the national title of Ms. Senior America in the 2015 Ms. Senior America Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey in October.
