The Foster Grandparents Program is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Current Grandparents are being honored at local luncheons in Colorado Springs, Larimer county, and Denver. Our Golden Anniversary is proof of the golden hearts we have volunteering with children in all 7 counties: Denver, Boulder, Jefferson, Adams, Arapahoe, El Paso, Larimer.
We are proud to honor grandparents volunteers from less than one year, all the way up to 24 years! With hearts so full of love and compassion, it’s easy to see how we have made it to our 50th.

Why be a Foster Grandparent?
Current Foster Grandparents gave us reasons:
When asked about being a Foster Grandparent, and more directly about what the program had improved in their lives, many of our volunteers had the same answers. They feel they are giving back to the community. They feel they have a purpose. They enjoy working with the children. They get a sense of satisfaction knowing they are helping children learn and grow. It gives them something to do, other than sit at home watching TV.
Over and over again, we hear how our Foster Grandparents feel enriched by the work they are doing. They feel more active, physically and mentally. They make new friends. They feel their social circles expanding, rather than declining. Positive feedback about positive effects.
