The City of Boulder and Team Player Productions (TPP) are excited to announce the return of Boulder Creek Festival®, which brought over 100,000 attendees to the downtown area in 2023. Festivities begin Friday, May 24 and last through Monday, May 27. “We continue to build upon Boulder Creek Festival’s success each year by providing unique activities for all ages, food and drink options from local vendors and musical performances across many genres,” said Boulder Creek Festival Event Director Ryan Slater. “This annual summer celebration is not to be missed!”
Festivities at this year’s Boulder Creek Festival include:
Pop-up Roller Rink: New this year and in partnership with Freewheel Limited, enjoy a roller rink pop-up at the Teahouse Plaza on Saturday night after the Farmer’s Market through Monday, May 27. Skating costs $15 per hour for those with skates or $20 for those who need to rent skates. Music, food and a bar will be nearby this nostalgic activity!
Music Acts: Fusion band Steely Dead kicks off weekend performances with more than 30 artists, including a Boulder Sound Machine showcase of Boulder’s best musicians.

Street Wise Art Battle: Located at the Boulder Creek Festival Art Zone, this partnership with Street Wise Arts includes 10 artists hand-selected to participate in this painting competition. Their works of art will be displayed in Boulder throughout the year. Stop by and vote for your favorite artist and watch them work on their masterpieces. Art collectors can also bid in a public auction to take home a custom painted Adirondack chair where proceeds go back to Street Wise Arts.
Free Skate Demos: Enjoy skate demonstrations and lessons in the library’s parking lot in partnership with Square State Skate all weekend. 303 Boards will take over 13th St on Sunday, May 26 for year two of Bash at the Banks, a free skate jam featuring some of the best pro skaters in Colorado.
“Boulder Creek Festival is back and better than ever,” said City of Boulder Events Manager Justin Greenstein. “With new activities this year like a pop-up roller rink, there is no better way to kick off summer in the city.”
The Boulder Creek Festival takes place along Boulder Creek from 9th to 14th streets between Canyon Boulevard and Arapahoe Avenue.
Boulder Creek Festival strives to produce a responsible, zero-waste event. Attendees are encouraged to utilize transportation options other than driving to and from the event, such as biking, walking or taking the bus.
Beginning Friday morning, May 24, festival set up will begin and there will be parking closures in the Civic Area, including at the City of Boulder’s Atrium building, Main Boulder Public Library, Penfield Tate II building, and the New Britain and Park Central buildings. Parking is available at the city’s public parking garages downtown.
