Governor Jared Polis has proclaimed May as Old Americans Month. In May 2024, we celebrate Older Americans Month, recognizing the immense contributions of older adults to our country. These individuals have worked tirelessly to achieve the American Dream for their families and communities, making our nation stronger and building a future of possibilities for new generations.

1. The theme for this year’s observance, as led by the Administration for Community Living, is “Powered by Connection!”
2. It’s a time to highlight aging trends, reaffirm commitments to serving older adults in our communities, and celebrate their invaluable contributions. Let’s honor and support our older citizens as they continue to enrich our society!
3. Colorado has almost one million residents over 65 years.
4. Social connections provide benefits mentally, physically, and emotionally and contribute to an older adult’s overall well being!
