June 6, 2014 marked the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings in Normandy, France. A national day of remembrance, honoring those who fought, and a celebration of liberty and freedom for France and the Allied Forces! One Colorado group, Reveille 3 ~ An Andrews Sister Tribute Act, received a special invitation to entertain at events surrounding this commemoration across France plus a bonus show in Cologne, Germany.
Although an honor, the group would be volunteering their time during the tour and would have to pay their way to Europe. Through
individual donors, sponsors, and a successful Kickstarter campaign, they raised the needed funds in only 3 months! Thus the ladies embarked on an 11-day tour in early June. Their first performance was their most important one, in Saint-Mere‐Eglise on June 6th. Reveille 3 shared the stage with performers from across the globe at this nationally televised day of events with thousands in attendance.
Later that day, they marched in the commemorative parade winding through the historic streets of town. Then they were off to do shows and appearances across the western countryside of France on their way back to Paris while doing some sightseeing at historical spots such as the Normandy and Brittany American Cemeteries, Arromanches, Les Ventes, and Omaha Beach.
The ladies would like to thank their generous donors who made it possible for Reveille 3 to represent the US, our veterans, and the veteran’s families during this concert tour!
You can see Reveille 3 live with the Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra this New Year’s Eve at the Avalon Ballroom in Boulder! For more
