Grab your lunch, call a friend, and join the 33rd Annual Salute to Seniors virtually on August 12 and 13, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on your favorite device in the comfort of your living room. We know many of you would like to join us in person, but more older adults are able to join us on zoom from around Colorado as well as the United States. In previous years, we have had international participation in the Salute, so we want to continue to give them an opportunity to participate as well.
A combination of education, fun, and entertainment are part of this year’s event. Experts from the American Society on Aging from San Francisco will be sharing their findings on how Baby Boomers Are Redefining Retirement. They will be followed by Colorado’s own Bob Murphy, State Director of AARP who will be talking about how older workers are an asset to the workplace as many people either continue to work or need to work beyond the usual retirement age.
Other highlights include the impact of science in bringing new medications and technology which Baby Boomers have demanded as they enjoy more years of longevity and better health. Aging in Place is top of mind for many older adults. Eileen Doherty, Colorado Ge- rontological Society will present tips to ready your home with a focus on using technology to meet those goals.
Headlining the entertainment will be the Mighty Quinns with a John Denver Tribute and closing the program will be After Midnight, the popular jazz band with tunes from Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw as well Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett.
Adding to the fun will be online trivia with prizes. A $100 Amazon shopping trip will be given away both days to the grand prize winner. Information and resources will be available, upon request from sponsors. The Salute will feature Resources on the Porch
again. You can drive by our office at 1129 N Pennsylvania, Denver, park in the drive and run up to the porch and grab a goodie bag with resources.
Cigna is the Title Sponsor this year and our media sponsors include Colorado’s own Channel 2, 50+ Marketplace News and Prime Time News. Register at https://www.senioranswers.org/programs/salute2022/ on zoom. If you need help with registration, call 303-
