In February, the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners appointed Hilda Gehrke as the newest member to the Jefferson County Board of Health. Hilda is an experienced community leader who has elevated Jefferson County community voices in health and well-being, particularly in the Latinx community. A graduate with a B.S. in Psychology from Regis University, she completed her training as an Ontological Coach from Newfield Network, INC in 2017. Since then, she has built a business as a life coach and has been actively involved in public health efforts throughout the pandemic to ensure equitable access to services within the Latinx community.
“Hilda has been a dedicated public health servant since long before she took the plunge to apply to join the Board of Health,” said Cheri Jahn, President of the Jeffco Board of Health. “Her service to the Board of Health will help our efforts of approaching all topics with equity at the top of mind. We are thrilled and honored to have her join us.”
As the newest board member, Hilda brings a wealth of experience in social leadership and facilitation. In addition, she is a trusted member of the Jeffco community and has built meaningful relationships across sectors and, importantly, with residents themselves.
“I am excited to serve my community in this new role. Community health and well-being are at the center of thriving communities,” Gehrke said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Board to continue to advance the mission of the health department and to serve the people of this county.”
