Director of the Loveland Public Library, Diane Lapierre has recently accepted the position of executive director with the Poudre River Library District, which starts on January 4, 2022. She plans to remain with the Loveland Public Library through the end of this year. In reflecting on her time at Loveland Public Library, Diane states, “I have been honored to lead the library over the past four and a half years and have truly enjoyed connecting with all the amazing people who make the library and our City such a great place to live, work, learn and thrive. While I will be working from an office in Ft. Collins, I do plan to continue to live in Loveland and remain committed to supporting excellent public library services across the region.”
Since 2017, Lapierre’s leadership has helped Loveland Public Library further its goals to inform, inspire, and engage the Loveland community through events and services. Lapierre grew up in Loveland, and her dedication to building community connections helped the library learn how to better address the community’s needs. Her responsive, community-focused leadership approach also helped the library adapt to changes with the evolving pandemic situation starting in 2020.
Although her collaborative leadership approach will be missed here in Loveland, this is an exciting transition for Lapierre. She has the opportunity to apply her innovative style to the unique challenges that face larger library systems. The Poudre River Library District has plans to continue growing by building new facilities, which promises to be an exciting challenge ahead
