In July, the Larimer Humane Society Board appointed Nicholas (Nick) Gilman, an experienced leader in animal welfare, as their new CEO. Nick has spent his entire career working to reduce companion animal homelessness, enhance the human-animal bond, and develop programs that benefit people and animals throughout the communities in which he has served.
Nick has extensive experience in animal shelter leadership serving most recently as the founder and CEO of Humane Logic, a consulting firm specializing in non-profit management for animal welfare organizations. Prior to starting Humane Logic, Mr. Gilman served in various leadership positions for Canadian SPCA in Montreal, Animal Rescue League of Boston, Animal Care and Equipment in Denver, American Humane Society in Denver, Humane Society of the United States in Washington, D.C., and Halifax Humane Society in Daytona Beach.
“Nicholas’ extensive experience and expertise leading animal shelters will be a tremendous asset for Larimer Humane Society,” said Keith Meyer, Board chairperson for Larimer Humane Society.
“I started in animal welfare over 36 years ago in order to satisfy my passion for helping animals,” Nick said. “I am so fortunate to be joining a wonderful organization in Larimer Humane Society where, because of your unwavering support, the critical work of rescuing animals and ensuring a better community for people and pets is made possible each day.”
The society thanks Larimer County residents for their support of the animals, and are grateful to the Larimer Humane Society family as the organization begins this exciting new chapter. Visit the society on their website at www.larimerhumane.org.
