Memory Cafes

A “Memory Cafe” hosted by Dementia Together made sure of all the attendees enjoyed remembering the 1950’s and had plenty of fun doing so. Elvis in the person of Christian Scandrett made a surprise visit. The Memory Cafe was held at Timberline Church in Fort Collins.

The program prompted fond memories of 50s music, favorite foods, attire, 50s automobiles, songs, men’s and women’s hair 1950s styles, famous people of the 50s, things to do, school experiences and so much more; as those in attendance reminisced about their lives and growing up in the 1950s. A few couples were up and dancing to the 50s music being played. Memory Cafes show there is a lot of joyful living to do even when dementia is part of one’s life journey.
