June 17-24 was National Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) Week. The theme is: Proud, Professional, and Passionate. We are so very grateful for our wonderful CNAs. They are the bedrock of our organization at Columbine Health Systems. With over 419 CNAs throughout our organization, they provide vitally important care to our residents at our skilled nursing facilities:
• Columbine Commons Health & Rehab in Windsor
• North Shore Health & Rehab in Loveland
• Centre Avenue Health & Rehab, Columbine West Health & Rehab, and Lemay Avenue Health & Rehab in Fort Collins
We even have a few CNAs working at Columbine Poudre Home Care and New Mercer Commons – assisted living.
To our residents, they are not only caregivers who learn each of their care needs and provide person-centered care, they are their friends. During this COVID journey when families were not allowed into our facilities, they were truly filling in as family!
As the guidance from CMS and CDPHE has relaxed, fully vaccinated families are returning to full visitation in our facilities. Our CNAs respectfully welcome families back and look to again share the care with them!
For other staff members on the interdisciplinary team, the CNAs have the most up to date information on the residents. They take their vitals – blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations, along with other essential information about eating and activities of daily living – bathing and dressing. Their insight and important data drive the care team. They are INVALUABLE and we are incredibly honored to have such wonderful CNAs at Columbine Health Systems!
