Are you and your family looking for creative and interesting ways to gain new perspectives during the pandemic? Thanks to the Scientific Cultural and Facilities District (SCFD), there are opportunities for all ages to partake in free cultural experiences presented by organizations around the Denver Metro Area. Whether seeking to learn about science, celebrate our servicemen and women, spend time appreciating abstract art or create an opera night at home, the following SCFD organizations have your entrance fee and interest covered.
• May 19: The Clyfford Still Museum, 1250 Bannock St. in Denver is free of charge from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets for SCFD Free Days are required and released one week prior to the event. Attend a special Free Day virtual workshop, Building with Lines (ages 9+) on Zoom or YouTube from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on April 25.
• May 23: Parker Arts – Parker Science Day. Unleash your curiosity and explore the wonders of hands-on science, technology, and engineering in Discovery Park with other families and local students. Science exhibits will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and you may arrive and leave whenever you like. Use the link above to RSVP and learn more.
• Thursdays and Saturdays: Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum, 12 Garden Center in Broomfield, is free of charge from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. every Thursday and Saturday. The museum, which celebrates and honors veterans and their stories, has a large and growing collection of uniforms and memorabilia from all branches of service and all wars and conflicts from the Revolutionary War forward.
