This band work together to ensure the music doesn’t die. Ciorcal Cairde Irish Pipes and Drums has found a way to continue rehearsing via Zoom meetings and socially-distanced park outings throughout the summer, and they’ve come out better than before! They’ve even offered lessons to beginners via Zoom or Skype, and have continued to welcome new members.
Now, the pipers are restless and the drummers are chomping at the bit to play. With performances still on hold and Stay at Home orders imminent, the band has had to get creative with ideas on how to raise money that was lost from missed competitions and other regular performances that were cancelled. This year, we’ve seen an uptick in drive-by birthday celebrations, outdoor parties with social distancing, and creative ways people have found to see friends and celebrate without actually being together.
Enter the Irish Celebration Gram. Ciorcal Cairde Irish Pipes and Drums (CCIPD) has a plan to bring a little extra joy to those who might be stuck at home on their birthday. Started in December, CCIPD is offering Irish Celebration Grams in the form of “Birthday Bagpipes”, and “A Bagpipe Surprise,” there’s even an option for a random Bagpiper (or two) to show up for no reason at all other than to bring a smile to someone’s face!
As a fundraiser, band members arrive outside of your home or business at a specified time to per-form a variety of selections in their repertoire such as Happy Birthday, Auld Lang Syne, Amazing Grace, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Jingle Bells, and our favorite Irish tunes. 15-20 minutes for only $50, is quite a deal for your very own private concert. Act now and plan ahead because this very special fundraiser pricing won’t last long. They require at least one week’s notice in order to schedule performers, and musicians are avail-able throughout the Denver metro area.
