Via Mobility has been named the 2020 Innovation of the Year award winner by the Colorado Association of Transit Agencies (CASTA) for our work with the Boulder County Farmers Markets. The award honors a transit agency that has created and implemented innovative programs, practices, partnerships, policies, and activities that improve the agency’s ability to serve riders and the community.
Earlier this year, Via experienced a significant decrease in ridership due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At the same time, their partners at the Farmer’s Market reached out to Via for help with deliveries, so we shifted our focus from moving people to delivering goods to those in need. You can view all 2020 award winners on CASTA’s website. As the pandemic hit Colorado and ridership plummeted in April, they weren’t sure where 2020 would take us. But, with your support, they were able to step up and help others. To say they’ve been busy is an understatement, but it’s in times like these that Via truly shines.
Their team is always up for a challenge and ready to help our communities in any way we can. Although it’s been a challenging year, it’s also been rewarding and impactful. And your support is what makes it all possible.
