MacKenzie Place Announces New Health & Wellness Manager!

Kate Spruiell grew up as a military brat and eventually found herself as a caregiver, along with her many siblings, to her stepfather who was significantly debilitated due to his diagnosis of MS. While she initially developed a career in hospitality, Kate eventually transitioned into healthcare in 2011.

She has worked in long term care, medical home health care, and healthcare staffing, which have all helped her gain a good understanding of the healthcare system and realize her passion for helping people thrive in the community. For the last several years, Kate has served as the Director of Community Relations for Ability Home Health Care, a company she helped start in 2015.

Her primary role is to act as a resource for individuals and families as they navigate the decisions that surround arranging (and paying) for short or long-term care. Over the last ten years she has been actively involved on several community boards including with Elder Care Network of Northern Colorado, the Foundation on Aging, Sharing the Care Campaign, Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Care Hospital, the Alzheimer’s Association, Serve 6.8, and the Chamber of Commerce.

Kate has been celebrated as a BizWest Magazine 40 Under 40 recipient and as a Volunteer of the Year for the Alzheimer’s Association. She prides herself on being an advocate for seniors and truly connecting and supporting families in our community. She is beyond excited to join the MacKenzie Place team as the Health and Wellness Manager and looks forward to meeting with all of the residents, their families, and the caregivers who support them.
