Many seniors supplement their incomes with a small business. Others find that in retirement they are able to pursue a lifelong talent and transform it into a part-time business. But, how to get started? Colorado Free University can help.
On May 31st Colorado Free University presents its 5th annual signature event, The Un-Job Fair: An Exploration of Options and Opportunities for Successful Self-Employment. This one day festival of presentations and seminars is created for people who are running their own businesses or considering launching one, of whatever type and size. The event was the brainchild of Barbara Winter, author of Making a Living Without a Job, who has traveled to Denver offering seminars in living the “joyfully jobless life”. The three keynote presentations address the essential attitudes and strategies that entrepreneurs need to succeed and smaller breakout sessions offer practical tips and tools for specific business needs.
In 2013 Joyce Feutstel was in the process of launching a business, Boomer’s Social Media Tutor, when she attended the event. She told us, “Last year’s Un-Job Fair was an amazing experience for me as a fledgling business owner. This event took place shortly after I retired so I could devote myself to my social media tutoring business. I learned practical skills to help me operate my business. I was energized and inspired by the keynote speakers, the session presenters, and other attendees.”
Independent-minded folks are expanding their horizons at the Un-Job Fair: A Day-Long Exploration of Options and Opportunities for Successful Self-Employment, Saturday May 31, 8:30-4:45 p.m. 303-399-0093 ext 0 or www. freeu.com for information.
