For many years, the Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado has participated in the City of Fort Collins 4th of July Parade, and has won ‘Best in Show’ and ‘Most Patriotic’ for many years. Due to Covid-19, the City of Fort Collins cancelled many of its usual Independence Day activities.
The Veterans Plaza hosted an Independence Day motorcade, an “un-parade” of sorts, complete with colonials in convertibles, Combat Veterans Assn. motorcycle riders, the VA Center mobile clinic, and other volunteers on as seen on Horsetooth and College Avenue. Besides creating this motorcade, volunteers spent some time at Old Town Square providing preambles to the Declaration of Independence, pocket Constitutions, and American flags to the general public. Pictured are the patriots and combat vets.
