If you are senior and you love to fish then Boulder County Parks and Open Space has an event for you. Boulder and Broomfield County seniors (64 and older) are invited to participate in Boulder County’s annual fish-off.
The fish-off is Friday, April 25, 6:30 to 10 a.m. at Wally Toevs Pond located at Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat on 75th St. be- tween Jay Rd. and Valmont Rd.
When you’re done fishing, stay for the awards ceremony. Anglers are recognized for the heaviest trout, most experienced (oldest) angler, best fishing joke and best fishing hat. And don’t miss the fish-fry picnic following the event.
Rain or Shine! The fish-off takes place regardless of the weather. A few notes:
• The pond is stocked with rainbow trout – artificial and live bait are permitted at the Wally Toevs Pond.
• You may bring your own chair.
• The fishing pier is wheelchair accessible.
• Restrooms are available.
• Participants must have a valid Colorado fishing license.
