Commissioned paintings are not a rarity for local Colorado artist Jack Olson. His artistic talents are impressively creative and far reaching in content. In addition, Jack’s freelance artwork is equally creative, recognized, praised and has won awards in numerous competitions his work has been entered in. Jack’s most recent commission work immediately caught his attention when the inquiry was made. He was asked to design a book cover. This was something he had never done before.
The book title is “Lil Darlin,” which is an autobiography about a Horsewoman from Northern California which has been published and soon to be released.
Being mostly a Colorado and Wyoming landscape and western Artist, Jack felt using the Sierra Nevada mountains in Northern California as a backdrop would be most appropriate, as opposed to the Colorado Rockies. This undertaking would be an interesting challenge and a bit out of his normal comfort zone.
So, to the canvas went his talent, creative mind, brushes, paint, past experiences and spirit. In the end, the challenge proved to be very gratifying, and client pleasing.
