The Cheyenne Veterans Affairs Healthcare System recently announced it will build a 75,000-square-foot “Super VA Clinic” at 4875 Byrd Drive in east Loveland by 2022, replacing the current Fort Collins and Loveland clinics. It will be located north of Thunder Mountain Harley-Davidson and across Interstate 25 from The Ranch and the Loveland Embassy Suites.
The new primary care super clinics are designed to incorporate the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model where a medical team of primary care providers, RNs, LPNs, and MSAs work alongside mental health, pharmacists, dieticians, therapists and other team members within the same area. The new Loveland facility will have mental health professionals, physical therapists, optometrists, radiologists, audiologists, and dentists as well as social workers and chaplains.
The facility will more than double the space of the current Loveland and Fort Collins clinics combined, have 550 parking spaces and serve more than 200 veterans a day.
Construction for the medical facility in east Loveland is planned for this summer and will take two years to complete. When the new facility opens in 2022, the VA will close its clinic in Fort Collins.
The new clinic will add radiology and dental care, two services not available in Northern Colorado. The new facility will allow the VA to expand its home-based primary care and home tele-health in Northern Colorado. It will include a pharmacy and a lab. Many veterans will be pleased when the new facility opens as they won’t have to travel to Cheyenne for the same services.
