This exceptional event was recently held at the Northern Colorado Regional Airport in Loveland. History is kept very much alive by the Collings Foundation along with local organizations, individuals and others interested and who desired to be supportive. In the truest sense, military history was presented. In the overflowing crowd were men and women who lived and experienced such history & those who came to learn and express their sincere appreciation to those veterans in attendance and to those who gave all in defense of our great country the United States of America.

WWII aircraft were there to Wings of Freedom Tour see up close, re-enactors in authentic uniforms set up camps. WWII vehicles including tanks and jeeps were readily available to see up close and for sure personal to many.

Aircraft rides were available. Veterans had the chance to sit, chat & be recognized and thanked for serving our country.

The three day weekend event was sensational. The overflow crowd was noticeable evidence. Cameras were forever active taking photos of memorable moments.

Jeneal “JR” McKinley’s tribute to ‘Rosie The Riveter.’

A hearty salute is in order for Jeneal “JR” McKinley who has been involved in organizing the event for over 16 years. Her alter-ego is “Rosie the Riveter” As we know, Rosie was an ever recognized symbol during WWII. She represented the major role women played in the war effort.

A true friend of all veterans Brad Hoopes, Remember And Honor, was quite active in his event support efforts. I have it from a reliable source Brad’s mother made absolutely scrumptious cinnamon rolls for the occasion – they did not last very long.

I personally found the Wings of Freedom Tour very meaningful. There was great honor in meeting and thanking WWII veterans; all veterans, as a matter of fact. The interaction was memory bound.

God Bless America! Bless Each & Every Veteran. Because of them… We live in the Land of The Free and the Home of The Brave.
