Senior Law Day for Adams and Broomfield Counties

Have you wondered about estate planning or what happens if you don’t have a will? Are you having problems understanding the alphabet soup of Parts A, B, C and D of Medicare? Do you know an older person who could be at risk of elder fraud? We want to help!

The Second Annual Senior Law Day for residents of Adams and Broomfield counties will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Adams 12 Five Star Schools Conference Center, 1500 E. 128th Avenue in Thornton.

Last year’s inaugural event was a tremendous success with more than 300 in attendance. Chairperson for the event, Ms. Casey Williams, says that she is proud of the 2018 event but knows that “there are more people in our community who need the information and always will be.”  Ms. Williams hopes that this event will continue for years to come and hopes that each year more topics and services will be offered.

The event provides needed legal information to seniors, their family members, caregivers and service providers. This year’s event features informational booths from service providers and agencies, and an Ask-An Attorney program where attendees may have a free 15-minute consultation with an elder law attorney. Each attendee will receive the Colorado Bar Association’s Senior Law Handbook, a 500-plus page resource manual with chapters on 34 legal issues concerning seniors. Breakfast and lunch is included.

The event is presented by the 17th Judicial District Senior Law Day Committee. The Committee is made up of local attorneys, service providers, city and county agencies, non-profit organizations, and community members. To register, sponsor, or volunteer, please contact Ms. Williams at (303) 500-7059.
