Information is power. Information can keep us from making critical mistakes that can take a toll on our lives. Getting accurate and timely information is better than finding treasure.
The Jefferson County Senior Law Day provides essential education, good food, vendors with resources for handling life, and an opportunity to visit with older adults from throughout the Denver Metro area.
Year 9 involves a few changes that we believe you’ll enjoy. We are presenting 16 sessions on various topics concerning ‘Law and Older Adults;’ we have 4 sessions that deal with areas of ‘Safety and Older Adults’ (ID Theft prevention; Scam prevention; Investment Fraud prevention and; Gun Laws and Safety). New this year is 6-8 Life Enrichment sessions, examples include ‘Pet Wellbeing and Safety,’ ‘How to select a Retirement Community,’ and ‘Older Adults and Prescriptions.’
The $10 Registration Fee (‘Walk-up’ registration is also available) covers a light breakfast, mid-morning snack, a box lunch, and the 2019 Senior Law Handbook. That’s a lot of event for your buck.
Once again we have vendors with valuable information about most topics of interest to older adults. We also continue to offer the ‘Ask-an-Attorney’ feature where attendees can sign up for a one-on one 15-minute session with an attorney.
This year we’re including a “Drug Take Back’ feature. We are collecting old and unused prescriptions at the front door right next to the Registration Tent. Please do not bring needles or sharps and try to have the drugs in a baggy for easy collection.
This event only occurs once each year and it is not an event to be missed. We’ll see you on Saturday, June 1; registration begins at 7 a.m..
