Sign Language Interpreter
Katie Bishop has been an Educational Sign Language Interpreter since 2004. She has enjoyed working as an interpreter in the educational setting; from interpreting for preschool students to interpreting for PhD level residencies; for the past 14 years. When her son was born in 2015; she and her husband learned that he had a few extra needs, one of which was his hearing loss. Life had come full circle and Katie knew that she wanted to be able to focus on her family and needed a flexible schedule, but she wanted to remain working in the field of education and working with individuals with a hearing loss. She became an Outreach Specialist for Relay Colorado in March of 2018. This has been a wonderful position that has allowed Katie to provide support, education and raise awareness to individuals who have a hearing loss or a speech need about CapTel and other free services available through the state of Colorado.
