The Elder Care Network of Northern Colorado (ECN) is proud to present the ninth annual Elder Care
Resource Day to be held on Saturday, April 6th, at the Fort Collins Senior Center from 8 am until 2 pm. Registration begins at 7:30am. ECN welcomes back the Virtual Dementia Tour sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care this year along with key note speaker Laura Pritchett, a local award winning author who has a unique perspective on Death and Dying.
Laura is also the author of five literary novels and the recipient of the PEN USA Award, the Milkweed National Fiction Prize, the High Plains Book Award, the Willa Award, and others. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, O Magazine, Salon, High Country News, The Millions, Publisher’s Weekly, The Sun, and other publications. This educational one-day conference assists caregivers by providing informative classes to help navigate family dynamics, plan for end-of-life, self-care for the caregiver, Alzheimer’s and Dementia awareness and tools to get through the day, plus, how to lighten your load. All classes are presented by speakers with professional expertise. Handouts or supplemental information will be provided at each session. Members of the Elder Care Network and sponsors will be available to answer individual questions, and each attendee will receive a tote bag to fill with information on local resources.
A $10 donation per person is suggested, which includes registration, education and lunch.
