Laughter clubs take place in many different settings. Business spaces, fitness centers, nursing homes, assisted living centers, and community settings may participate in laughter clubs. A laughter session is organized around a laughter therapy program as a way to stay healthy, have fun and deal with stress. The sessions are presented by laughter club leaders, who use a combination of visual aids, playful activities and laughter meditation, among other tools that stimulate the body and mind. People who attend laughter clubs enjoy the support of this socially and physically stimulating laughter program.
Right here in Greeley there is a Laughter Club. This laugh a minute club is to be found at The Bridge, an assisted living community. Yours truly sat in on a laughing session under the fun and lively direction of Eileen Smith, a Certified Laugh Instructor and Coach. Eileen conducted the meeting in a very creative, enlightening, and joyful manner. She invited participants to join her in: Roller Coaster, Full Bladder, got to go, Donkey, Lion, Monkey, Snowball Fight, Silent Laugh and others. The half-hour+ was crazy, ridiculous, a let you hair down time and lots of fun. The time was an ideal, fun diversion from the activities, challenges, feelings, and thoughts of the day. And, certainly a way to be relieved of any tensions. Actually, a FUN get away into Laughter Land. A spirit booster for sure. I have often heard say – “Laughter is be best medicine.” I love to laugh. How about you?
