Greeley’s Landscape Lecture Series

Greeley’s Water Conservation program is once again offering its popular Landscape Lecture Series in 2019. The goal of the workshops is to promote sustainable landscape practices in the community. Join us on the third Wednesday of the month beginning at 6 p.m. The location for all events is the City Council Chambers, in the new City Center South Building at 1001 11th Ave.

Below is the schedule for the first five events in the series.
• Jan. 16: 7 Steps to a Xeriscape Smart Yard. This beginning class walks you through the seven principles of Xeriscape and how fosters a beautiful and successful yard.
• Feb. 20: Retrofitting Your Irrigation System. This session covers irrigation system dos and don’ts when upgrading your system, either on your own or working with irrigation system professionals.
• Mar. 20: Xeriscape Design with Maintenance in Mind. This class will get you thinking about maintenance and care when you plan your Xeriscape.
• April 17: Fruit Trees in Colorado. Learn the science behind caring for fruit trees, including site selection, cold hardiness, harvesting, diseases, insects, and more.
• May 15: Rain Gardens. Discover the basics of rain gardens, why you might want one, and the benefits for you and the environment.
