The cities of Primm, Boulder City, and Mesquite are all about an hour’s drive from Las Vegas. Primm is a collection of three casino resorts including Whiskey Pete’s, Primm Valley, and Buffalo Bill’s, and don’t forget the Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas.
Head north about 20 miles to the tiny town of Goodsprings and the Pioneer Saloon for breakfast, and tour the Techatticup Mine in the Nevada foothills.
Boulder City is a short drive north, and you won’t want to miss a helicopter tour of Hoover Dam and a rafting trip with Black Canyon River Adventures.
Have a Chicago dog at Mom’s Hot Dogs on the Nevada Highway, and right across the street at Chilly Jilly’z, Jill Bunch serves soft serve yogurt, custard, and Dole Whip. Visit Fox Smokehouse BBQ in the business district for taste-tempting brisket and ribs.
Coffee Cup Café has been featured on the Food Network for their Pork Chili Verde Omelette and also has a tiki bar.
On your way northward towards Mesquite, take the Lake Mead Northshore Road through Valley of Fire State Park, which rewards with spectacular vistas of the Mojave Desert.
The city of Mesquite is a golfer’s paradise and is close to Zion and Grand Canyon National Parks. To fully explore the surrounding desert, book a UTV Tour with Adventure Time Tours.
There are several excellent accommodations in the area that include CasaBlanca Resort (with Katherine’s for casual fine dining) Three Hot Nevada Destinations That Are Cool to Visit and Eureka Casino Resort (with Gregory’s Mesquite Grill for upscale dining).
