ECRD is a great opportunity for caregivers, family members, or you to come and listen to speakers with professional expertise in each of their fields.
Attendees can participate in three different sessions throughout the day. Topics include: What’s Your Plan? Preparing Advance Directives; How to Prepare Your Digital Estate; 10 Ways to Love Your Brain; Caregiving as a Team Sport, How to Join the Caregiver Underground; Leaving a Legacy; Laughter is the Best Medicine; How to Live Well with Low Vision and Hearing Loss; Pets Need Plans Too and I Want to Stay Home, Resources and Strategies to Age in Place. Plus, each session offers the opportunity to experience The Virtual Dementia Tour. This is a scientifically proven method of building a greater understanding of dementia through the use of patented sensory tools and instruction based on research conducted by P.K. Belville, M.S., geriatric specialist and founder of Second Wind Dreams. During the Virtual Dementia Tour experience, trained facilitators guide participants through common everyday tasks and exercises while outfitted with patented devices that alter their senses. The Tour enables caregivers and professionals to experience for themselves the physical and cognitive challenges those with dementia face.
